The economy, the need for trained welders and shortage of welding engineering professionals are the three factors most influencing the welding industry today.

The Sumeka Welding Institute(SWI) has three aims :

• To share and enhance the knowldge base in welding science and technology.
• To focus on both theoritical and practical training in welding technology.
• To impact high level training to students at a much lower rate without compromising on the standard of education.
